Amalfi Coast!

Update: May 22, 2015:

The Amalfi Coast is so amazing. It rained all day yesterday but today was perfect for the coast road – temperature in the mid 70’s and sunshine all day – just a splash of rain around 3pm or so. We drove around the coast to the south to Amalfi, then turned up into the hills to cross the backbone of the peninsula and complete the loop in reverse from Sorrento back to Amalfi, and then back to our hotel in Cava de Tirreni. Tomorrow, it’s off to Montepulciano for 3 days, and then to Florence – hotels booked.

Today we were very glad we decided to purchase the full “Super” damage waiver on the car, eliminating any responsibility for damage – no real accidents – well, one lady did absent-mindedly hit us from behind at a traffic stop – but we wound up scraping the side of the BMW rental car against the stone wall when we had to squeeze past one of the larger busses along the way. Also glad we were driving a rental instead of a car we owned ourselves!
